Assignment: The Drug War

This week's blog assignment should answer the question:

Can we win the War on Drugs?




I'm leaving this one up to you to decide who "we" is?  You can focus on the U.S., Mexico, Columbia, Afghanistan, or any other place where authorities are struggling against the drug trade.

Two weeks ago we discussed Afghanistan (#1 opium crop) and this past Friday, we focused on Mexico.

In Mexico, it's quite a complicated situation.  Think about the drug cartels and why they are so powerful.
Also think about the role of the U.S. is in this mess.  What does the U.S. provide for Mexican drug cartels?

Are the problems in Mexico problems for America?
