In the past two classes, we've been discussing Middle East politics. Our focus has been on Isreal/Palestine and the history of conflict in Afghanistan. Powerpoints are posted on my website, under the Current Events page.
For this week's blog, I'd like you to discuss one of the following topics:
1. Afghanistan: Can the US "win" this war? What will victory look like?
- Think about US strategy, other historic campaigns, and what the future role of the Taliban will be.
2. Peace in the Middle East: How will Israel and Palestine settle their land dispute? Is one side
causing more conflict than the other?
- Is this really about land? What other resources are of interest?
- Does Israel have a historic right to this land?
- Is the antifada movement terrorism, or the heroic reaction of an oppressed people?

ps... Don't forget your blog's three paragraph structure. Some people have been forgetting to dedicate an entire paragraph to the opposing viewpoint. Also, fact boxes or listing your facts at the bottom is worth 10 easy points. Don't forget!
